Nazarene

Description

Nazarene (i.e., Christian) flag I designed to stand in solidarity with the Christians that Islamic State (IS) (aka ISIS) ran out of Mosul, Iraq. The Arabic letter ن (which looks like a letter U with a dot over it) is the isolated form of the letter "N", which IS marks on buildings and property belonging to Nasrani / Nazarenes (i.e., Christians, followers of Jesus of Nazareth). IS gave the Iraqi Christians in Mosul the following options: (1) convert to Sunni Islam, (2) don't convert and pay a specific tax for remaining a Christian, (3) don't convert and leave Mosul and take nothing with them, or (4) do none of first three and be murdered by IS. My design shows the Arabic letter "N" overlapping the Christian fish symbol
(i.e, Ichthys,
ΙΧΘΥΣ, an acronym/acrostic for "Ίησοῦς Χριστός, Θεοῦ Υἱός, Σωτήρ", (Iēsous Christos, Theou Yios, Sōtēr), "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior".

Sad you didn't put a "ن" on the flag: it's "n" in our alphabet, for Nasrani ... It was used by jhadists in Mossoul against Christians, but became since the symbol of survivance of Christians against jihadist oppression, and a sign of solidarity to support them.
